I miss Street & Smith's. I used to religiously buy (or more accurately, get Mom to buy) those preview magazines in any sport I could get them for as a kid in the '90s. Like most things that have gone downhill since then, now there are hardly any preview mags to pick from anymore -- certainly among the non-fantasy variety (although even those are dwindling). Lindy's is just about the only mag carrying the torch.

You're absolutely right. I never articulated the difference between a preview magazine that was filled with actual stories vs. one focused on fantasy rankings. I didn't buy Street & Smith's every time (obviously, ha), probably because we subscribed to S.I. and then added a Sporting News subscription. But I loved knowing it was there, and before ESPN the Magazine debuted, S&S was one of my favorite magazines to get for a plane ride.

100%! I remember getting a preview magazine at the airport and reading it cover to cover on the flight. I actually still will do that sometimes, haha, provided I can find one anymore.
